Featured Photo Shoot~ Love Bound!

Daily Ramblings,   Photo Shoots

Is it really September??? It is hard to believe that Labor Day has come and gone and the last two days have left me feeling like I want to put on a cozy sweater, make a cup of tea, and curl up on the couch with the pups! Oh the Fall, so excited that it has arrived VERY early this year. Watch as I speak I am sure the weatherman is projecting 90 degree weather tomorrow just to kill my dreams… Dallas don’t upset me!

We are so thrilled to have been featured on Labor Day by the fabulous Green Wedding Shoes, this shoot was absolutely adorable and some great inspiration for the couple looking to do an engagement shoot that is unique and not the traditional beach style shoot. If you are getting married by the water, talk to your wedding planner about renting a Duffy Boat to capture some amazing romantic pictures with y0u and your soul mate. How awesome would that be??? Pretty awesome if you ask me!

Our inspiration for this shoot was in fact Labor Day (thanks Jen for posting it on actual Labor Day~ couldn’t have wished it better) we wanted to show a different side from the traditional nautical theme and incorporated some vintage elements, buttons, and some fresh lemons.

Think about using this color palette of navy, yellow, white, and a hint of red for your upcoming coastal wedding. I really am loving yellow these days and this shoot made me love it even more.

Brooke with Simply Sweet Cakery made the most amazing cookies with our shoots theme and also some insanely delicious chocolate covered caramels with sea salt sprinkled on top- can you say TO DIE FOR??? We ate like 15 on the drive home. She makes amazing custom cakes for weddings and any other excuse to throw a party. Check her out!

We did a custom Bout for our guy with a dried mushroom, jute rope, billy ball, and military button~ too cute!

This was an adorable bouquet complete with buttons, dried mushrooms, and handle treatment- we were thrilled to do the styling and floral design on this shoot. The back of the boat was done up with nautical rope and gorgeous orchids, a great idea for not only a boat but if you are looking for a backdrop for your wedding design to go behind your wedding cake, sweetheart table, or at your place card table. All great places to bring in your overall theme or feel for your wedding or special event.

The table display was so much fun and we brought in some vintage details with the antique bottles and basket. We love to use other items for decor such as fruits, vegetables, shells, rocks, or anything organic and natural, it is a little unexpected and also helps create texture and interest. We always recommend to our wedding client’s to use something other than flowers in their wedding decor.

The bouquet was a mix of hydrangea, cymbidium orchids, thai yellow orchids, billy balls, and sweet peas~ the colors are so fresh and yummy!

Check out the adorable sign made by the girls of Typologie & Co. If you are looking for custom invitations or signs for your event they make adorable stuff. They are also in the same building as our design studio in Newport Beach, perfect to meet both companies in 1 day! 🙂

Candice with Mark Brooke Photography is so amazing! She is super fun to work with and always makes our client’s super comfortable and thrilled with their pictures from their wedding. Definitely check out her and Mark’s work here.

Hope you had a great Labor Day Weekend spent either at the beach or BBQ’ing!
