A Fresh Gray and Yellow Wedding ~ A Good Affair Event Design
Gray and yellow was quite the popular color scheme. It’s chic and modern, yet fun and light! Perfect for any wedding day!
Check out a few other gray & yellow weddings we worked on! Whitney and Chris at the Ritz-Carlton in Laguna Niguel, and Julie and Mike at the Oak Canyon Nature Preserve in Anaheim.
But here is a beautiful and simple gray and yellow wedding fully designed and executed by yours truly, A Good Affair! Thanks to Kenny Grill Photography for taking the time to come out and capture these wonderful details for us!
We designed a combination of high and low centerpieces, spread throughout the room. We accented the king’s table with both heights and a mix of candles to give it extra interest. Cut lemons lined the short centerpieces, while whole lemons filled the tall.
Beautiful blooms of yellow and white orchids adorned the curly willow branches. The curling branches giving the relatively static piece a more organic feel and natural movement.
We choose to go with white chivari chairs and cushions to give the satin gray linens and canary yellow napkins a nice contrast. The white chairs were a nice clean and crisp statement in and of itself as well!
The bride is a teacher so she included these adorable signs and mini chalkboards as her table numbers.
We came up with this fun way to setup escort cards. Run various ribbons across an empty picture frame and attach the cards using tiny clothespins!
The reception space had a small stage, so we setup the cake and the candy buffet there as a nice focal point. In keeping with the gray and yellow, we did the same for the candy. Gray candy is hard to find without it being M&Ms or metallic. But we did good on this one! The bride loved it and got all her favorite candies in! The wooden crates really tied together well with the table signs, and were still a nice clean look.
Hand fluffed tissue pompoms hung as a full backdrop behind the candy station. A real treat to also have had a mirror behind it too! It added nice depth to the entire setup. We love the touch of whimsy these pompoms add! It looks much like the white and yellow mums used in the low centerpieces.
A matching cake by Simply Sweet Cakery. Simple and clean lines with gray ribbon, fresh flowers, and fresh cut lemons. Adorable!
We had a blast coming up with these ideas and then seeing them come to life for the big day! We hope you enjoyed this journey into A Good Affair’s event design! Let us know if we can help you plan your next big event! We love taking on new ideas and challenges!
