Featured Wedding: Modern & Eclectic Palm Springs Wedding

Featured Wedding

Southern California is really turning up the heat! This winter warmth takes us back to Alison and Chris’ funky and modern Palm Springs destination wedding.

“I had the pleasure of planning my cousin Alison’s destination wedding last year to her fiancee Chris in Palm Springs. Working with family can be good and bad, but it was perfect. Alison is really a mixture between modern and vintage, with a very eclectic design taste as she is a designer for Gensler and Associates in Newport Beach. Both Alison and Chris are extremely down to earth, and just wanted a good party for their friends and family, and that’s exactly what we had. Choosing Palm Springs as a destination made it a perfect weekend getaway for our local families and a fun vacation for those traveling from all over the country. The ACE Hotel is an extremely funky venue that combined both of their styles and made for a fun and different wedding than what you normally expect. Alison had the great idea of seeing if the ceremony could be at the Palm Desert Presbyterian Church where our Great Uncle had been Pastor for almost 30 years but has since passed. The current Pastor was extremely receptive to the idea and welcomed our family back with open arms to the gorgeous facility with it’s stunning stained glass backdrop. The history of the church is extensive for it’s young age and was supported by past Presidents including Dwight Eisenhower and Ronald Regan during our Great Uncle’s pastor-ship and we were honored they allowed us to use the church as our ceremony location. The reception design was a modern but eclectic version of Palm Springs style and fit perfectly in with the ACE Hotel. Simple green palms adorned the long tables an their taco buffet was to die for. And to end the night, Ben & Jerry’s came and served ice cream to everyone instead of having a cake or desert bar. Words cannot express how honored I was to make sure that Alison & Chris had a perfect day that they would remember for the rest of their lives. Thank you Ali for trusting in me, love you!” – Erin, A Good Affair Planner
